Consolidated Power BI Report Integrated with MS Dynamics 365 Business Central and MS Dynamics CRM

Overview: Huda Lighting is a leading lighting solution provider for projects of any type and size in the UAE. They were facing issues in maintaining the records of each branch and determining which branch achieved the target on time and which branch needed improvements. They are using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central & CRM. So, we captured the data from both systems and all 10 entities via webservice and created the consolidated Power BI reports.
Challenges:
The major challenge here is that Huda Lighting has 10 branches in the middle east where they were not able to manage the data and see whether they were achieving the branch target and geographical targets to manage their overall prediction, which also helps them to forecast for the future. Also, they had high volume of data in BC and wanted to make sure that the data refresh occurred smoothly in Power BI.
Solutions:
We developed the Power BI data model using the Star Schema approach. Where we took the data from the existing all 10 entities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 business central and Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Initially, the Huda stack holder wanted to do the data warehousing and in that they wanted to develop the report. But the expert Powe BI resources from our team made use of the Star Schema approach and an effective data model to avoid the cost of the data warehousing. The Huda team also wanted to see the sales details on the base of Territory as well. We have provided the same report for the Territory as well. The user rights are also done in the report so that the manager can see the records of his own and the sales people reporting to him, and the top management, including the directors, can see the data of all the branches and territories.
